Providing a better quality of life
Working for ILA

We aim to recruit and retain quality staff to work in all ILA services.  As a provider of first choice in many areas we are continuing to expand our services and have frequent  vacancies for support staff.   In particular, we are committed to:

  • Publicising vacancies amongst the widest possible audience
  • Promoting equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice in all aspects of recruitment and employment
  • Recruiting people with the right personal qualities. Relevant experience and qualifications are an advantage but the right attitude, values and approach are essential
  • Involving service users and, where appropriate, their families or advocates in the selection of their support team
  • Recruiting a dedicated team specifically to work with service users with particularly complex needs
There is a two-stage competency-based interview process, the second stage taking place in the service for which candidates are applying. Candidates who are successful at the second stage are offered employment conditional upon:
  • Two satisfactory references, including one from the current or most recent employer
  • An Enhanced Certificate issued by the Criminal Records Bureau
  • Proof of stated qualifications
  • Evidence of the right to work in the United Kingdom
